Albus Dumbledoreis the TransfigurationProfessor, and later Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Не is considered to be the most powerful wizard of his time.
Appearance
"Nothing like this man had ever been seen on Privet Drive. He was tall, thin, and very old, judging by the silver of his hair and beard which were both long enough to tuck into his belt. He was wearing long robes, a purple cloak that swept the ground, and high-heeled, buckled boots. His blue eyes were light, bright, and sparkling behind half-moon spectacles and his nose was very long and crooked, as though it had been broken at least twice. This man's name was Albus Dumbledore."
Personality
He was the most powerful wizard of his time, wise, a good wizard in the style of Merlin. He was typically speaking in a calm voice, being reasonable and kind, but firm. It is said that Dumbledore was the only wizard Lord Voldemort ever truly feared.
Dumbledore was quite philosophical and very eccentric. He often used humour to make people feel comfortable in his presence.
Albus Dumbledore: "Welcome! Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you!" Harry Potter: "Is he — a bit mad?" Percy Weasley: "Mad? He's a genius! Best wizard in the world! But he is a bit mad, yes."
Do not misunderstand me. I loved them. I loved my parents, I loved my brother and my sister, but I was selfish. ~Albus Dumbledore
By the end of his first year, he would never again be known as the son of a Muggle-hater, but as nothing more or less than the most brilliant student ever seen at the school. ~Dumbledore's years as a Hogwarts student
